Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness, flushing and visible blood vessels which can get worse when drinking something that is too hot.
Dr. Sajjad Rajpar, a consultant dermatologist at the Westbourne Centre in Birmingham says : “When you have a hot drink this causes dilation of blood vessels in the surface of the skin to release heat from the body and the more hot drinks you have, the more it ‘fixes’ the redness because the heat constantly leaves the vessels dilated”.
